Job with many different aspects
Name:
Henrik Røjel
Education:
MSc. Eng. Sustainable Energy from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU)
Position at NORDEN:
Head of Fuel Efficiency and Decarbonisation
How long have you been with NORDEN?
I started in May 2013.
Fun fact
In my spare time, I enjoy using my hands to build stuff. At the moment, I am restoring an old Volkswagen van with some friends, trying to make it as good as new. I am also building a summerhouse with my dad and sister.
What is your background?
I started at NORDEN shortly after finishing my studies at DTU.
What does your typical workday look like?
Most days I am in contact with partners or potential partners either via email, phone or physical meetings, negotiating contracts or evaluating the potential of new technologies and alternative fuels, etc. During such tasks, I seek advice from colleagues in Communications, Legal and our commercial and technical departments.
What is the best part of your job?
I enjoy that my job involves many different aspects. It is equally important understanding the business as it is, being able to identify the right technologies and partnerships on our way to develop low-carbon transportation as a product to our customers.
Why did you choose NORDEN?
NORDEN offered an opportunity where I could make good use of both my (mechanical) engineering skills as well as working with data to generate value for the business. Despite choosing to enrol at DTU, I have always been interested in business and economics. At NORDEN, I found a perfect balance between working with technical problems that must always make business sense.
