At NORDEN, we are looking for an experienced Legal Counsel with a deep understanding of shipping law, eager to bring your knowledge to a highly skilled legal team. As part of our Legal team, based in Copenhagen, you will be an important part of supporting NORDEN’s position in the market.

You will join our team of legal professionals which currently consists of lawyers across Copenhagen, Singapore and Cyprus. Collectively, the legal team services diverse business units spread across various offices internationally in all aspects of the global maritime industry.
As a member of our global legal team, you will support the business in a fast-paced environment providing solution-orientated advice as a trusted legal advisor.
You will have control of your own cases working alongside experienced colleagues. This also means that you will interface directly with business heads and independently instruct external counsel.
Your competencies and core qualifications
You are a qualified lawyer in the UK or other common law jurisdiction with at least 4 years PQE gained at an international law firm or in-house counsel at a multinational organisation or a P&I Club. Ideally, you have both contentious and non-contentious shipping experience.
To be even more concrete we expect you to have:

Experience handling typical charterparty, COA or bill of lading disputes, cargo and other FDD and P&I claims in the dry or tank segments.

Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of shipping agreements including charterparty agreements and transshipment agreements.

Experience providing legal advisory support at the pre-fixture stage.
